Bear River State Park
A link to Bear River's website

So, the first of many stories of our summer begins like any other.  "Hey kids, we're going to go somewhere fun today!"  The kids shout happiness in the air and there is a bonus for this trip because Chris's parents were visiting us and were coming with us too!

We had heard great things about this place so we decided to go check it out.  It's on the edge on Wyoming and we had passed a few times going to Utah.  So we headed out with the excitement high. We (I) were expecting beautiful landscapes, rivers, maybe even some wildlife.

So we get there and see that the entrance has bathrooms and a playground, which means the kiddos lost all interest in anything but the playground.  (I hate when that happens...)  Anyways we keep driving and see a nice river, and a few parking lots, so we decide to stop and get out and discover.  There is a path along the river so we decide to walk it and see where it takes us.  The in-laws decide they'll sit at a picnic table and wait for us.

The River, the path is to the right...

The old bridge we walked across...

Chris and the kiddos checking out the river...

 An awesome path...
I love this pic, Chris found sticks for all the kiddos to walk with, and of course I think I'm a photographer and had to stay behind and take a pic!

All in all, there wasn't much to Bear River. There was a river, a path, an old bridge, picnic tables, bathrooms, and a playground...and a snake...but no bears anywhere...hmmmm..

Oh yeah, I was walking in front for once and was waiting on everyone to join me.  The next thing I know I turn around after calling out to everyone to come on, and there's a snake right in front of me.  I screamed like any normal person would, right....?  I must have scared it, because as soon as I saw it, it was gone.  Of course, Chris just laughed and told me I should've let him go first, but I was tired of walking, and walking, and walking, and walking.  Anyways, we had a semi good time at that state park.

(Doesn't everything look better in sepia....apparently I thought so....)

More to come...

WYOMING
Well, we have been living in Wyoming since May 20th. We were very excited about Chris's new job and moving somewhere new. All in all it has been a fantastic experience except for one thing, the kids and I miss Texas something terrible! Yeah it may be hot, it may be humid, but it's home! It's all they have ever known and I have ever known. Both of their grandparents live in Texas and they miss them and I miss them too. (*cough* instant babysitters *cough*). We have been to Yellowstone twice and have taken the kids to see many awesome things. Oh and by the way, the actual Salt Lake stinks to high heaven! That was one trip the would have rather not taken! We have seen dinosaurs skeletons, 1000-4000 year old petroglyphs, and an old mining town. Chris on the other hand loves it up here! He loves his job, the cooler weather, and being so close to nature untouched. Here are a few pics from our summer in Wyoming....

This is Joy and Sunshine fishing with Chris on the Green River.

The crazy limbed tree I made them climb in so I could get a pic!

The petroglyph adventure!

The triceratops at the college in town, I loved seeing all the dinosaurs!

I will post more later about each individual trip and add more pictures too!
Thanks for stopping by!

Way Too Long

It has been waaaaaay too long since I've posted anything at all.  Life started happening and when Maximus was born we had 4 kiddos under the age of 4!  Life was crazy!  But here we are, we've made it through bottles, diapers (yes!), the twos, and we're almost through the 3's.  Now our adventure is starting with big kid thoughts.  So before I get too far gone with that speech, here are pics of each one of our kiddos....
  Joy, 7
Ducky, 6
Sunshine, 4
Maximus, 3

They are the best kids anyone could ask to have.  Sure there are crazy times when everyone is mad at each other for some silly reason, but all in all they love each other and would do anything for the others.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Well, about a year or so ago I was pregnant with Adam and home with the girls like any old day and got the urge to bake homemade cookies. I hardly ever bake anything unless it's around Thanksgiving or Christmas, which means I was out of flour, didn't have any brown sugar, or chocolate chips. I decided to search the internet for an easy way to make peanut butter cookies......and I found a great one. It's the easiest too, and I'm sure everyone has already known about this forever, but anyhow here's the recipe

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

That's right! That's all you need!! Mix it altogether and roll into balls, use a fork to make the lattice looking top, sprinkle with a little sugar and bake @ 375 fr 8-11 minutes.....(9 works best for me).

Since then I can't seem to stop baking them! So if you would like to try them beware, they're addicting! I even tried to make another kind with all the usual baking good stuff and they didn't even taste like peanut butter cookies! So there you go! It's super easy and not a lot of clean up either! All my kiddos love them, with the exception of Maximus.....not big enough yet ;)

Sunshine stuck in the basketball net!
 Joy having a blast!

 Ducky after sliding!

The birthday girls!

Well, the girls had a great birthday party at Pump It Up. We had family and friends there and it was perfect! It's overwhelming to think we have a 4 year old and a 3 year old! And it's really overwhelming to think that Joy will be starting kindergarten in 2010! Once you have kiddos time sure does fly by! Nothing major has been going on at our house lately, just the same stuff that happens everyday. Sunshine is teething and is getting all 4 of her 1 year molars, no fun for anybody, but she has been sleeping more than I expected she would so that's great! Over spring break my friend Michelle and her two little boys came to visit! We had so much fun! It was great seeing them! Maximus will be 6 months old this month and I can't believe it!

Marching into birthdays....

With March comes many things for our family; spring, birthdays, and new adventures. Today is March 11th and our oldest Joy turned 4 yesterday! It is amazing to think about having 4 kids, when your oldest just turned 4! My how time flies....it seems like just yesterday we were coming home with each of them! Well, Joy got to go to MDO on her birthday and she took cupcakes for her friends. She also had special visitors once we got home. Pop, Lala, and cousin Garrett came over with pizza and cupcakes! We had a great time!

In 11 days we get to celebrate Ducky's 3rd birthday the same way! We are having their birthday party at Pump It Up this year and everyone here is super excited! Chris and I were even invited to the birthday party by Joy and Ducky! :) haha They're too funny!

Sunshine and Maximus are growing so quickly it's hard to keep up with everything they accomplish each day! Sunshine is almost 17 months old and is into everything and I mean everything! She climbs on everything and in the past few days has shown interest in the potty! Maximus is already 5 months old and is growing so quickly. He and Sunshine are almost the same size! He's been rolling over and over and over and hasn't mastered sitting up yet, but we're working on it!

Just this past weekend Jenifer, Chris' sister went with us to the Tyler Rose Garden and took our family pictures for this year. She did an amazing job!! She is so talented! And on a side note all the kids cooperated very well and I didn't even lose my cool! All in all it was a great day!!

Ducky (2)

 Joy (3)

Max (3 months)

Sunshine (14 months)

Above is an individual picture of our precious kiddos....

Well, it's been a really long time since my last blog, and we've added two more children to the family! Sunshine was born on 10.22.07 and then less than a year later Max was born on 10.3.08. I had my tubes tied and here we are!

We are living in Gladewater and are almost finished building our first house! Chris is still working at the Social Security Administration and still running his business. I am still at home with the kids until they are all in school, and then I will start teaching again. In February Chris and I will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. Joy will be 4 in March and Ducky will be 3 in March. It's crazy how time flies by so quickly!! More later...
